Jury selects Palladium Global Science Award winners

Published on 3 September 2025

On 3 September in Shanghai, China, a meeting of the International Expert Council of the Palladium Global Science Award took place. The jury reviewed the shortlist of nominees and selected the winners. This meeting was preceded by extensive work on evaluating the applications submitted for the award.

Experts from leading universities, R&D centres, scientific organizations and laboratories evaluated the applications based on all of the criteria and compiled expert reports with cumulative scores. The applications in each nomination were then ranked by their final score.

At the jury meeting, the chair Professor Francis Verpoort presented the participants who had received the highest total scores according to the expert reports. He proposed two nominees as winners in the Best Scientific Development and Best Scientific Article nominations, as well as one participant as the winner for the Best Applied Concept nomination. Where more than one participant received the same score, the winner was selected by majority vote.

The names of the winners, as well as the date of the award ceremony, will be announced in due course.

“From the opening of the meeting, I ensured full adherence to the regulations for the Palladium Global Science Award,” noted Francis Verpoort, Professor and Chair of the Jury. “The decision-making process was both fair and efficient, allowing every jury member to contribute while maintaining focus on the scientific merit and evaluation criteria of each application. I would like to thank all participants for their interest in the award and their trust in the International Expert Council.”
