Published on 21 July 2025

Researchers developing innovative applications for palladium have until 31 July to enter the Palladium Global Science Award.

Since the opening of the application period for the competition, submissions have been received in all categories, from metallurgy, medicine and biotechnology to construction and environmental technologies. Currently, the most competitive area is the nomination for Best Scientific Article. Meanwhile, the nominations for Best Scientific Development and Best Applied Concept offer significantly higher chances of winning. Winners in these nominations will receive awards ranging from $50,000 to $120,000.

Participants still have the opportunity to join the competition and compete for a share of the prize fund until 31 July. The Palladium Global Science Award Jury will evaluate entries solely based on their scientific and technological merit. All applicants have equal chances of success, from independent researchers and startups to corporate laboratories and professors from the University of California or the University of Tokyo. To participate in the award, candidates must complete and submit the application form.

The Palladium Global Science Award is an annual international science competition that aims to identify scientific and practical ideas, research, developments and future prospects for industrial applications of palladium, including new ways of using the metal and efforts to improve the technical and economic performance of existing technologies.
