The review stage of the Palladium Global Science Award has begun

Published on 27 August 2025

The submissions for the Palladium Global Science Award are now under review. Experts from leading global universities, research centres and laboratories, led by the chair Professor Francis Verpoort, are currently evaluating the applications. The process was established in order to eliminate bias and conflicts of interest. For example, experts cannot evaluate any application where they have personal ties or professional relationships with the applicant.

During the evaluation process, the experts are guided by the criteria drawn up by the Palladium Global Science Award organizing committee. The main criteria are novelty, level of readiness, application quality, and scientific and technical feasibility, along with certain specific criteria for each nomination. For example, when assessing applications for the Best Scientific Development and Best Applied Concept nominations, the experts evaluate market prospects, while scope and potential competitive advantages are taken into account in the Best Scientific Article category.

For each criterion, the experts provide their own evaluations according to the award rules. For example, when it comes to novelty, the highest score is awarded to an application presenting a completely novel concept.

After the end of the review stage, the Jury will present the total score for each application and choose the winners at the expert council meeting. The names of the winners will be announced in September 2025.
