Submitting an application for the Palladium Global Science Award: A step-by-step guide

Below is a step-by-step guide to support you throughout the process:

1) Choose the right nomination and align your materials accordingly

Select the nomination that best reflects the nature and maturity of your work:

• Best Scientific Development – for validated developments or working prototypes
• Best Scientific Article – for published or accepted research papers
• Best Applied Concept – for forward-looking ideas supported by analytical justification
  

When preparing your application, try to clearly demonstrate how your work relates to one or more of the defined palladium application categories.

2) Prepare a complete application package

Each nomination has its own focus and recommended materials:

• Best Scientific Development:
  Describe your development and its practical application. Supporting materials, such as test results, pilot implementations, or similar evidence can help strengthen your submission. You may also include proof of authorship, as well as patents, publications or conference materials where available.
• Best Scientific Article:
  Submit your article along with a brief explanation of how palladium is applied in your research. Articles may already be published or officially accepted for publication (with confirmation). A list of related publications can also be included.
• Best Applied Concept:
  Outline your idea, the role and advantages of palladium, and the problem your concept addresses. Where possible, you are encouraged to include elements such as market perspective, competitive landscape, and a potential implementation pathway.

For all nominations, please include a professional CV with contact details, information about your academic or professional background, and key achievements (including publications, where applicable).

Additional materials such as recommendation letters, expert opinions or patent filings (including those under review) may further support your application.

3) How applications are evaluated

Applications are reviewed by the International Expert Council. Key evaluation criteria include:

• Novelty
• Scientific and technical feasibility
• Market potential and ESG relevance (for the Best Scientific Development and Best Applied Concept nominations)
• Competitive advantage (for the Best Scientific Development and Best Applied Concept nominations)
• Scope and advantages of the application (for the Best Scientific Article nomination)
• Readiness level (for practical use)
• Application quality (completeness, thoroughness and logical substantiation)

For scientific articles, particular attention is given to the applicability and clarity of the research contribution.

4) Submit your application and stay in touch

Complete the application form and upload your materials. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email.
